Enrichment Faculty

Spanish K—2

Mrs. Kristi Noller is in her second year of teaching Spanish at Cornerstone.  She and her husband, Jim, have been married for seventeen years and have two children.   Aaron, age 10, and Josiah, age 8, have both attended Cornerstone since they were in Kindergarten.  Kristi graduated from Arizona State University where she majored in Spanish and secondary education.  She taught Spanish in a Christian high school overseas in Guam and then spent several years staying home full-time with her children.  For the last five years she has been teaching preschool.  Kristi and her family attend Catalina Foothills Church, PCA, where they have been active both in short-term missions and the children's ministry.

Art

Mrs. Kathy LeMay is in her ninth year of teaching at Cornerstone Christian Academy and her sixth year of teaching art.  She also works with the Search and Teach reading program.  Mrs. LeMay majored in elementary education at the University of Arizona, with previous studies in fine arts at California State University Northridge and Mount Saint Mary’s College, both in the Los Angeles area.  She has taught art to elementary, middle, and high school students, has worked with special education students, and has tutored reading.  She and her husband Jerry, an engineer at Raytheon, attend Dove Mountain Church, PCA.

Latin

Mr. Jeff Jones is in his eighth year at Cornerstone Christian Academy and serves as Director of Operations and Latin Department Chair.  He teaches Latin for grades 4-6 with additional duties in the areas of administration as Director of Operations.  Mr. Jones is originally from Ohio and played football, basketball and baseball all through high school and into college. He earned his Masters of Education degree from Northern Arizona University in 2007 with honors.  He also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communication Studies from East Stroudsburg University (1994) and has studied Latin and the Classics at the U of A.  Mr. Jones and his wife Autumn are members of Catalina Foothills Church, P.C.A., and they enjoy spending time with their young son Mason, as well as other family and friends.  His hobbies/ passions include ancient history, all things Italian, and participating and watching sports of all types (namely the Boston Red Sox and Ohio State football).

Physical Education

Mr. David Schexnayder is joining our staff this year as the new P.E. teacher and Athletic Director.  David recently graduated from the U of A and is married to Ashleigh.

Music

Mrs. Diane Clark is joining our faculty this year as our new Music teacher.  While Diane is new to the school as a faculty member, she has been a parent at Cornerstone and Pusch Ridge for several years. Diane is married to Thomas and they have 4 children.

 

Inspirational Afternoons

Mr. Jeff JonesMrs. Debbie Ferg is in her fifth year of teaching "Inspirational Afternoons" for kindergarteners at Cornerstone. After growing up here in Tucson in Amphitheater District schools, Mrs. Ferg went to the University of Arizona, where she graduated in 1972 with a degree in Elementary Education. After teaching third grade for two years, she married Bruce Ferg, and became a full time mom to their four children (3 sons and a daughter), now ages 22-32. Her home became her classroom. Mrs. Ferg returned to Christian school teaching for two years at Palo Verde Christian School in their afternoon kindergarten program. She and her husband attend Rincon Mountain Presbyterian Church, PCA. She is daily grateful to God to be able to teach at Cornerstone and inspiring her kindergarteners in their music, art, and nature studies, and imaginative play experiences.
